Sea Kayak - Lake Crescent

Trip

Sea Kayak - Lake Crescent

A 13nm 'warm up' on beautiful Lake Crescent, on the way to the Surf n' Camp weekend.

  • Sea Kayak II
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 13.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 20 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 2 ft
  • Pace: 3

We will meet at 10 am at the Fairholme boat launch for a 10:30 shore talk and launch.

This will be a casual round trip from Fairholme campground to the Devil's Punchbowl.  It is normally an easy paddle but can get sporty with an east or west wind.  We'll do most of the trip close to the north shore and may make a stop at the Lodge on the return leg (there are no restrooms on this trip, except at the launch and the lodge).  Bring your lunch; we'll find a beautiful spot for a lunch break.

We'll be camping at Fairholme (site 26) before and after the paddle and there are currently several additional campsites available.   There's also good hiking and a great rails-to-trails conversion for anyone who wants to spend more time at the campsite.
