We'll paddle from Colonial Creek Campground to the lake, circumnavigating and possible side trip up the arm towards Ross Lake.
This trip is for nature lovers, photography hounds, and early morning risers. We will LAUNCH at 6:30am from Colonial Creek Campground. It Will Be Dark when we launch. Bring headlamp to light your way off the water, and use glowsticks hanging from your PDF for soft light while paddling.
Quiet paddling encouraged to enjoy nature while we are on the water from pre-dawn, through sunrise, and in to the day. Leisurely pace to allow for photography.

Required Equipment
These seven essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
