Naturalist Trip - Skyline Loop
This naturalist hike out of Paradise on Mount Rainier will offer opportunities to enjoy stunning views of the mountain (if weather permits) and enjoy plants, wildlife and perhaps fungi. We will have frequent stops and walk at a relaxed pace. Parts of the trail are steep and require good conditioning and balance.

There are restrooms at the trailhead. Bring poles, water and clothing layers for changing weather or rain. This hike, although not a lot of miles, requires good conditioning and balance. At times we will be traveling over rock and it can be very steep in places. It is a loop trip. We will stop to identify plants and to look at birds and wildlife. Bring apps such as Merlin, Seek and WA wildflower search on your phone. We will look at plants at whatever stage they are in. We are likely to see some nice fall colors and perhaps mushrooms if we have had rain. Bring snacks to eat along the way to keep up your energy. Lunch will probably be at Panorama Point.
An email will be sent out with any updates to participants a few days before the trip.
Meet 9am at the Skyline trailhead near the Visitor Center (stone steps lead up onto the mountain) at Paradise within MRNP.
