Iron & Teanaway Peaks

Trip

Naturalist Trip - Iron Peak

This is a naturalist trip to enjoy the spring time beauty in the Teanaway. We will have frequent stops to identify the profuse wildflowers, birds and other wildlife.

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 7.6 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,540 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 6,160 ft
  • Pace: slow pace

Plan to meet at the Iron Peak trailhead at 9:30am.  No parking pass is required.

Since there is no restroom at the TH, plan to stop at Beverly creek C.G. or another site along the North fork of the Teanaway road before arriving at the trailhead.

Since this is a naturalist trip, you may wish to bring binoculars, reference material such as nature apps on phone (e.g. Merlin, WA wildflower search) a book, a loupe (for closer flower identification).  Poles can be useful on the trail.  Bring plenty of water for possible sunny weather (we are on a ridgeline with the creeks far below) and have clothing layers and raingear.

An email will be sent out a few days before the trip with further instructions or updates.
