Naturalist Trip - Evans Creek Preserve

The Evans Creek Preserve has everything from open, often sunny, wetlands to mossy old trees, an urban rainforest environment. We'll be looking at the many mosses and lichens and exploring this ecologically diverse area....very slowly! The plan is for a 3-4 hour trip, according to group interest.

The Evans Creek Preserve has multiple trails and environments to explore. This is a Naturalist trip, so be prepared to participate in noticing and identifying lichens, mosses and more, in addition to just enjoying the scenery. Bring a loupe if you have one (and extras will be available). This is a chance to solidify and expand what you learned in the recent Moss Workshop.

Rain and even snow are predicted for the coming week, so be prepared with warm clothing and good footgear, with one possible creek crossing. We will descend >100 ft from the Upper Trailhead to the wetlands.

The Washington Trails Association has an excellent description and driving directions  and is well worth looking at. The city of Sammamish also provides a lot of information.

Address is 3650 Sahalee Way NE, Sammamish WA 98074
