The course winds through verdant green rolling hills infused with dewy sage lingering in the morning air and (hopefully) blooming sunflowers and more, climbing 700 ft over the first 3 miles and then staying high to the Horse Lake Viewpoint before a long descent with views of the Wenatchee River, bottoming out around mile 7 and one last climb (about 700 ft) to mile 9.5 and then an easy grade down to the finish around mile 10.6. The beauty of this course is that its beauty is short lived, before the flowers wilt in the Eastern Washington summer heat. Strava course here. We'll run as a group and stay together, at a moderate pace.
Meet at the Day Drive Trailhead in Wenatchee. We'll aim to start running at 8:30 am to beat the heat and the crowds, but there's some flexibility here since it's a long drive. We can discuss as the run approaches. Carpool options from Seattle to reduce our carbon footprint.
