The hike to Wagonwheel Lake gains 3200 feet in 2.8 miles in a thick forest. It is a solid workout and not for the faint of heart. We will keep a moderate pace and, depending on group strength and weather/conditions, we will gain 800 additional feet in 1/2 mile to a beautiful meadow. From there we'll make the final push to "Silver Snag," a lone weathered tree atop a hill with 360* views of the eastern Olympic mountain range.
Conditions could be wet and wintry - or could turn wet and wintry on a dime - and winter gear, including traction devices, layers and rain gear, are essential.
Please request leader's permission before signing up.
TBD; depending on where participants are traveling from.
