Starting from Log Boom Park in Kenmore, we will head to the forest trails of Saint Edward Park, stopping to visit Bastyr University, which boasts a fine chapel, herb garden, and reflexology path. Then we will head to Finn Hill and the crest of Big Finn Hill Park, with an elevation gain of 500 feet. Some steep and muddy trails are possible as we find peekaboo views of the lake. We descend steeply via Goat Hill to Juanita Beach Park on the lakeshore. From there, we'll pass through a lovely series of parks, including Juanita Bay Park, Waverly Beach Park, and Heritage Park to reach our final destination for the day at Kirkland Marina Park.
Since this is a one-way hike, busing to and from is recommended. MetroTrip Planner can be used to find your best bus connections. At the end of the hike, we'll be near the Kirkland Transit Center.
Be sure to pack a lunch or bring lunch money to purchase a cafeteria lunch at Bastyr College. Also, remember your ORCA transit card or bus fare.
