A great hike and excellent training for tackling other objectives! This is a very challenging hike and will require a high level of fitness, and participants must also bring the right gear.

In order to ensure a safe and successful trip for all, I will be scheduling a qualification hike about four weeks prior to the Enchantments Hike.

Here are the requirements:

Mt Si

45lb Pack

2 hours or less from the trail head to the lookout. Goal is 1:30 hours.

One hour max back to the parking lot.

3mph average travel time is the goal, which would be 2:40 hours car to car.

Bring your enchantments kit on the Mt. Si Hike. Your Enchantment Kit will not equal 45lbs (shooting for 15 or less), bring a few extra gallons of water to make weight. You can dump the extra water at the top before going down.

The cutoff is two hours to the top and one hour to the bottom, three hours total, car to car, no exceptions.

I highly suggest if you are not familiar with this kind of hike, try this on your own before the test, or contact me and we can train as a group. I go out every weekend and I will be going out on weekdays when the days get longer.

If you have not done a long day hike before, I will send out a gear list for review prior to the hike.

All that being said, this will be an awesome day in the mountains and it is always one of the highlights of my year. Looking forward to it!

PS, this is typically a 16 hour day.

Plan for constant movement with 5 min breaks every 1 - 2 hours start to finish.
