We will hike at 1.5 - 1.75 moving average but will keep moving. There will not be a formal lunch break. Maybe three roughly 5-minute breaks along the route, but will also stop whenever someone needs, e.g. clothing adjustment. We'll stay within voice or eye contact at all times; wait at all junctions. Poles are advised for those who like them, and shoes with good traction for possible wet fallen leaves and mud. There is one potentially challenging step up that with a bit of maneuvering could be handled with two steps (poles helpful).
On relatively easier hike like this, participants' abilities may vary. If you are a strong hiker and want a greater challenge, may I suggest bringing 3 or 4 extra liters of water? If you are a newer hiker: 1.75 moving pace is roughly a 34-minute mile, averaged out between faster flats and slower ascents. It is important that participants look at the stated walk description, distance, pace, elevation gain and consider your current fitness level in determining if this walk is a good fit for you. If you have any questions, please contact me in advance. I will look at your profile and recent activities to ensure that you seem you are ready for this. I may email or call you to ask you about your hiking history and conditioning activities.
