The Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed between Jan 12 and Feb 3 which will make traveling through Seattle on I-5 even more difficult than it is now. If you live in the eastside or north of Seattle's downtown, consider escaping to the north for some hiking.
The ACFL (Anacortes Community Forest Lands) is owned by the city of Anacortes and has lots of trails to explore. We'll be doing a figure-8 loop which includes Whistle Lake (a great swimming hole in summer), Sugar Cube and Sugarloaf Mts with lots of up and downs in between to keep you warm. No rain cancel.
