Meet at 10:30 AM at the West Rattlesnake Mountain trailhead, reached by taking Exit 27 from I-90, turning right at the end of the exit and turning right at the trailhead parking lot entrance, where a Discover Pass sign is displayed.  If you continue to the end of the road, you will be at Snoqualmie Point, which is NOT where we are meeting.  A Discover Pass must be displayed by each car parked there.  Due to the recent construction of a mountain bike trail, which has a different route than our hiking trail, but uses the same trailhead and parking lot, the parking lot is  now often full when we arrive, which would require parking along the entrance  road.  This hike is scheduled on a weekday to reduce the chance of not finding  parking space in the parking lot.

There is a restroom by the parking lot that was not being maintained the last time I was there, so was not in good condition.  If that is the case on our hike day, we can take a short trail to the north to Snoqualmie Point Park, where the restrooms are in good condition, due to being controlled by a different land manager.

There is no restroom on our hiking route, but bathroom breaks can be taken in the woods during our lunch stop.

The first half of the hike, up to a plateau cleared for power lines, has a rather steady upward grade that eases in the second half.  We will take a short rest break at the plateau before continuing to the lunch spot.  A short section of our trail leading to Stan's Overlook coincides with the mountain bike trail, so we sometimes see bikers at our lunch spot, but they do not stay there long, so we have always been able to eat at the picnic table there.
