  • Mileage: 12.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,500 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph, slower on steep stuff, faster on easier parts.

Route starts from the Rachel Lake trailhead near lake Kachess, just east of Snoqualmie pass. Past Rachel lake the trail climbs up to a ridge dotted with lots of little lakes, tarns and ponds. Trails criss-cross the ridge to the various pools. Likely will also visit the overlook down to Lila Lakes.

My goals for this trip are:

1. Be safe.

2. Follow Leave No Trace principles.

3. Explore the many lakelets on the ridge above Rachel lake.

4. Learn something.

My expectations for trip participants are:

1. Follow Leave No Trace principles.

2. Be respectful of all participants.

3. Have the necessary physical conditioning for this trip. There is a roughly 1-mile section below Rachel Lake that is steep, rocky and rooty. The trail above Rachel lake is also steep but short.

4. Have the necessary gear and clothing to be safe and comfortable.
