Day Hike - Margaret's Way

This is a fun hike to a great view of Mt. Rainier, if the clouds part.

  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,600 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 1,720 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph

7:00 AM at the Trailhead as we will want to start early to avoid the other enthusiastic hikers.

From I-90, take exit 15 stating Lake Sammamish/Renton Highland 900.  At the stoplight at the end of the exit turn onto Highway 900/Renton-Issaquah Road and go south toward Renton.  From the stoplight drive 3.2 miles and turn left at the easy-to-miss driveway with a large blue Cougar Mountain Recreation sign.  The large parking lot is straight ahead.

A nice hike through the woods to condition for summer hikes.  Bring a snack for a stop at Debbie's Viewpoint.  Hikers must be capable of a moderate pace (approx. 2 mph).  I will encourage 10 feet distance from each other during the hike to maintain appropriate social distancing with exertion.
