Day Hike - Lower Big Quilcene
Join the Tacoma Singles Activities Committee on a hike along the lower section of the Big Quilcene River in the Olympic National Forest. This is an easygoing, 10 mile in-and-out day hike with 800 ft in elevation gain. The gentle trail follows the river up a valley with second growth forests - wildflowers will be in bloom! Singles of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate, but any and all are welcome!

The hike itself could take between 5-6 hours and it'll be a 3-hour roundtrip drive from Tacoma (plus more time for the optional meal stop), so be prepared for a long day! I'd like to hike at a steady pace of 2-2.5 mph to be mindful of time, but am happy to take breaks and stop for occasional pictures.
There are several campgrounds nearby if you'd like to consider camping in the area the night before.

Meet at 8:00am at the Narrows Park & Ride in Tacoma (6th Ave & N Skyline Dr, Tacoma)
From there, we'll consolidate cars and carpool to the trailhead - it'll be about 1.5 hours from the Narrows Park & Ride. Drivers will need to display a NW Forest Pass at the trailhead.
If you'd prefer to meet the group at the trailhead or en route from Tacoma, contact the leader to make arrangements.
There will be an optional post-hike meal stop on the return trip to Tacoma, location TBA.
