This is a steep and strenuous hike with nearly 4000 feet to the top of the ridge. But the alpine scenery up on the high ridge is glorious, with views of the giant glaciated peaks like Clark Mountain that tower above the Napeequa Valley far below! And the best part will be the amazing fall colors on the ridge.
We will have to ford the Chiwawa River at the beginning and end of this hike. Please bring sandals that you can cross the river in, as well as trekking poles recommended. If river crossing looks dangerous, Plan B will be nearby Poe Mountain/Poet Ridge, also featuring great fall color.
We will only do this hike with at least partly sunny weather. Anything less will postpone or cancel.
