Day Hike - Licorice Fern Trail

A hike in the woods.

  • Sat, Dec 14, 2019
  • Seattle Hiking Committee
  • Day Hiking
  • 20-30 Somethings, Retired Rovers, Singles, Adults
  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.9 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,395 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

We will meet at 8:00 AM in Bellevue or Issaquah (possibly at the trailhead).

  • The exact location will be provided in a pre-hike e-mail.
  • NOTE: Depending on actual group size, meeting at the trailhead may be more practical than an intermediate location.

Trailhead: Sky Country Trailhead

  • Permits (Trailhead Only): None!

The route we'll be taking is atypical. Usually for this route we'd start and what is marked as the end location. Instead, we'll be starting quite far from it and make our way there so this route will basically be from trailhead to trailhead with a nice forest walk inbetween.

The route we'll be taking will effectively be a reverse lollipop loop. We'll stop at Coal Creek Falls and possibly Far Country Falls somewhere along the way.

Prior to signing up for this hike, please take into account the following:

  • Adults only (≥18 yrs old).
  • We'll be going at a casual pace.
  • We will be hiking rain or shine though if conditions prove dangerous then we'll adjust (or cancel) the hike as needed.
