Day Hike - Heybrook Lookout & Ridge

The inaugural Everett Youth Program activity! This day hike is an opportunity for parents and their children to enjoy nature together as part of the Everett Mountaineers family community. The hike will also include a scavenger hunt for items such as pine cones, leaves, and moss! The hunt will be in accordance with Leave No Trace guidelines. The Heybrook lookout tower is at the top of the trail and will be accessible for an excellent view of the Skykomish valley and surrounding mountains.

  • Moderate, Easy
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 2.6 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 900 ft
  • Pace: 1 to 1.5 mph

Although this isn’t a long hike, its 900-ish ft elevation gain is nothing to underestimate. Youth and adult participants must possess an adequate level of fitness. However, the pace will be slow to accommodate the scavenger hunt.

We will hike as a group, so please do not expect to charge ahead of the group at a faster pace.

Parking at the trailhead may be crowded, so carpooling is recommended if feasible.

Meet at the Heybrook Lookout Trailhead at 8:00 am. Step off as a group at 8:15.
There are no toilet facilities at the trailhead, so please plan to make a pit stop along the way.
