The trail follows Ruth Creek approximately 4 miles to Hannegan Pass, providing wonderful views of the Mount Baker Wilderness and North Cascades National Park. We will stay together while we hike, regroup and rest at the pass, and then continue on to Hannegan Peak (approximately one addition mile) for even more expansive views. We will return on the same trails to our cars at the trailhead. Please be at the trailhead by 8 am (give yourself plenty of time to get there) and ready to hike by 8:30.
We will meet at the Hannegan Pass Trailhead, located at the end of Forest Road 32, at 8:00 am Monday August 4. To access the trailhead, take State Highway 542 (The Mount Baker Highway) through the town of Glacier, and turn left onto Forest Road 32. The road should be signed. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive by 8 am as this trailhead is a bit of a drive from the Seattle/Tacoma area. Either the Northwest Forest or Interagency (America the Beautiful) Pass is required for parking.
