Day Hike - Green Mountain: Gold Creek Trail

This is a non-summit loop hike between Green and Gold Mountains that starts flat, has gradual gain, then drops back to the trailhead (4 mi, 600' gain)

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 600 ft

This is a great early season hike and  there may be occasional stops to identify flora/fauna.   Route follows Gold Creek then backs around the headwaters then travels up above on the other side.  The trail intersects with the early part of the Gold Creek trail.  At that junction,  if the weather is exceptional, there is a possible additional 1 1/2 mi roundtrip, minimal additional gain along a DNR road to a great vista with views of the neighboring lakes. Otherwise, the rest of the trail switchbacks through some eroded washouts and tree roots down to the trailhead.

Optional dinner in Silverdale after hike.

Gold Creek Trailhead at 1:30 PM
