Day Hike - Goat Lake (Monte Cristo)
Hike in a beautiful forest along Elliot Creek, past an old mining town, waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks to a gorgeous alpine lake. It's having a moment as an Insta favorite, mid-week should be less busy. Plus a side trip to a nice waterfall on the Chokwich trail. Off Mt. Loop Hwy ~ 2 hours from Seattle.

This route & lake are picturesque and are getting great reviews, let's go explore them!
We'll follow the forested lower Elliot Creek Trail (which receives better reviews for scenery and is on a trail rather than a logging road) past streams and waterfalls, catch some mountain and valley views, climb up toward the lake, and experience McIntosh Falls before reaching Goat Lake. We'll have a sunny lunch & an optional swim before retracing our steps to the Chokwich trail, and checking out the final waterfall of the trip.
Carpool option #1 - Northgate Park & Ride B 6:30 a.m.
