The hike is entirely on a wide paved level path, passing Judge Jack Tanner Park enroute to the lunch stop and turnaround point at Les Davis Pier, where there are restrooms and a snack bar is sometimes open. We'll have lunch at picnic tables overlooking Puget Sound. The return hike is by the same route. This is a good hike for beginners.
All participants must have with them at all times a mask that can cover their nose and mouth and will be put in place whenever we pass close to others on the trail. Carpooling is limited to members of the same household. There are a large number of parking places at the trailhead parking lot.
Meet at 10:30 AM in the parking lot of Dune Peninsula Park, 5361 Yacht Club Road, Tacoma, WA. 98407, reached by taking the Tacoma City Center exit from I-5 onto I-705 northbound, which becomes Schuster Parkway and then Ruston Way. Turn right at the second roundabout and follow the signs to Dune Peninsula Park. No parking pass is required there. Restrooms are by the parking lot.
