This outing is a joint venture of Seattle Hiking/Urban Walks (volunteer plans and lead the walk) and The Mountaineers Development Staff (staff manage the roster and assist on the walk). If you would still like to join this hike after reading the description below, please contact staff member Bri Vanderlinden  (briv@mountaineers.org)

This series of outings in partnership with staff. They are different from other activities in that they have been created as a way to accomplish four  independent goals based on feedback from Mountaineers members:

  1. Support members, primarily seniors, who have asked for assistance signing up for activities. This  includes members who have self-identified as people who find it difficult to use the website.
  2. Expand amount of conversation-paced mid-week outings for longtime members expressing interest in slower activities without the pressure of having to keep up with fast-paced hikers.
  3. Reach out to longtime members who have not participated in a Mountaineers activity in over a year and invite them to spend time with us outside.
  4. Provide an avenue for staff leadership to engage Mountaineers donors and longtime members to share information and receive feedback about the direction of the organization.

The evolution of these outings continue to improve thanks to your feedback. Since we are supporting some members who rarely use their online account and have not yet signed their activity waiver, staff are oftentimes managing an offline waitlist. Please contact staff member Bri Vanderlinden if you'd like to be added to the list for staff coordinated activities. (briv@mountaineers.org)

All open spots will become available one week before the activity and are open to all members who are interested in joining a slower-paced outing with Mountaineers staff present.
