Day Hike - Cutthroat Lake & Pass

Easy paced hike along Section L of the iconic Pacific Crest Trail to a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by rugged granite cliffs.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,300 ft
  • Pace: Easy pace

We'll start from somewhere in Seattle/Eastside around 6 AM, with additional carpool locations as needed. This is a beautiful area, Cutthroat Lake itself is gorgeous, the views along the PCT are stunning, and the fall colors will make it even more interesting. We'll hike at an easy pace, and have a fun  hike, taking time to enjoy the views and take pictures. Optional dinner/social on the way back.

This will be a one-way car drop-off hike, because the distance is too great to come back to the starting point. We'll drop off half the cars at the Cutthroat Lake  trailhead, and drive to the Cutthroat  Pass trailhead on the PCT. We will hike from the PCT to Cutthroat Lake . From the lake, we will drive back to the Cutthroat  Pass trailhead on the PCT and pick up the cars.
