Day Hike - Church Creek–Satsop Lakes

Starting from the east (Skokomish) end, we will pass through a beautiful combination of old growth forest, huckleberry fields, open pass with wildflowers. Good workout on the switchbacks. SUV or higher clearance recommended for last 2 miles of road. Please note this is a day hike, but not a stewardship hike. The Olympia Branch is scheduling Stewardship activities in this area on September 17 and 30.

Participants can carpool, meeting at Haggen's, West Olympia, or the fish hatchery parking lot on Skokomish Valley Road near US 101.  Details will be emailed to registered participants a few days before hike.  SUV or higher clearance recommended for last 2 miles of road.  Trailhead parking lot is small.  Northwest Forest Pass or NFS day pass required.

This is a moderate to strenuous hike, which we will do at a moderate pace.   We will gain over 1,500' in about 2.5 miles on the way in, then go about 900' downhill to the lake.  Reverse on way out.  We will agree  upon and observe a turn-around time.
