Day Hike - Burroughs Mountain

Trip

Day Hike - Burroughs Mountain

13.2 miles (some of it off-trail), 4500', Glacier Basin to beyond 3rd Burroughs, back via 2nd, 1st, Sunrise Rim, and the Wonderland. See leader notes, the route https://caltopo.com/m/KGQQC

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 13.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 7,800 ft
  • Pace: 2 MPH average moving speed

We will go off-trail at 3rd Burroughs and continue on the bootpath along a ridge (if I determine it to be of little risk and not a scramble). You should be comfortable with this sort of thing.

There will probably still be some snow going to 3rd Burroughs and coming down from 1st. Most people will not need traction for these. You should be somewhat comfortable on snow and bring traction if you are not.

7:30 at the White River Campground parking lot

6:30 Enumclaw Ranger station to consolidate cars/carpool

I'll need 1 person to pick me up at East Sunset Way trailhead in Issaquah at 5:45. This will add 6 minutes to your trip for someone that is north and west of I-90.
