Day Hike - Barclay Lake
Join the Tacoma Singles Activities Committee for a refreshing dip and relaxing float in Barclay Lake, nestled at the foot of magnificent Baring Peak in the Central Cascades. This will be an easy hike along a well-maintained trail, 4.4 miles round-trip with only 400 feet of elevation gain. Wear a swimsuit and bring your inflatable pool floats! Up to 3 leashed dogs allowed with leader's permission. Singles are encouraged to participate (LGBTQIA+ & POC-friendly), but any and all are welcome.

*If you're not interested in swimming, that's no problem, as long as you're content to hang out at the lake for 1-2 hours. Feel free to bring a hammock!
The plan:
Arrive at the trailhead around 12:30pm
Find parking at the trailhead (it will likely be crowded)
Hike the 2.2 miles to the lake and find a nice beach spot to settle in, probably around 2pm
Hang out at the lake for 1-2 hours - swim, float, snack, chat, relax
Hike back the way we came and return to our meetup point
Optional post-hike meal & drinks nearby

Recommendations:
Wear a swimsuit or clothes you're comfortable swimming in & bring a towel
Bring along an inflatable pool float if you have one! Hike leader will bring a pump for inflating.

Dog owners: If you'd like to bring your dog along, please email the leader directly for permission. Dogs must be leashed and well-behaved. Up to 3 dogs are welcome. If no dog spots have been reserved by 9am on Wednesday, July 11th, then those spaces will be opened to human participants.

We'll meet at 11:30am at the Monroe Safeway at 19651 US-2, Monroe, WA 98272. Google maps link to meetup location: https://goo.gl/maps/M8bJTQnBWuR2
From there, we'll consolidate cars and caravan about an hour to the trailhead, where a privy is available. Drivers will need to display a NW Forest Pass.
There will be an optional post-hike meal stop for those who'd like to hang out more and grab a bite and/or drink (possibly in Monroe at the Route 2 Taproom, which is right next to the meetup point and allows dogs!).
