Leader is a birder and wader, so any good birding opportunities and warm weather will mean we include a few sensory pauses. While this is co-listed with "naturalist" the emphasis is on hiking but with a birding/wildflowers "as we go" slant. Conversational social pace of 2 mph up and brisker stride pace of 2.5 down.
We'll take a pause at the bridge for photos, as well as a longer "lunch" break at the lake. Be ready to dip your feet in the water if it's warm. If it's really warm, we'll have a delicious snack (leader will carry) and if it's not buggy, a possible swim - bring a light towel and suit if you like. For those wanting to extend another .5 miles (or into photography) we'll add the Asahel Curtis nature loop at the very end.
Time for some summer fun for the Tuesday contingent, come one and come all! This is a break from leading CHS-1 and CHS-2 outings on Tuesdays; the next Tuesday club hike with Court won't be until August.
Early morning / sunrise hike. Meet at the trailhead at 6:20 so we can do introductions/stretching by 6:30 and walk by 6:40. Carpooling info will be provided in Hello Hiker email.
