The skiing: Sovereign Lake Nordic Center (and the adjacent SilverStar Mountain Resort) together have >100 km of groomed trails (see trail maps for Sovereign Lake and SilverStar) and several warming huts. To track current conditions, visit Sovereign Lake's website and Nordic Pulse.  Classic and skate skiers are welcome. We will likely ski about 20 km (12 miles) per day.

Schedule: We plan to arrive in Vernon, B.C. on Thursday evening, ski Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday, and drive home Sunday afternoon and evening. On Sunday morning, depending on the group's interest, we may ski again at Sovereign Lake/Silver Star or we may visit a different Nordic area on the way back south; Telemark Nordic Club, Kelowna Nordic Ski Club, and Nickel Plate Nordic Center are some possibilities.

Accommodations: We've booked lodging for the group in Vernon, typically a 25 minute drive to the skiing.

Getting there and back: The drive to Vernon from Seattle is about 6 hours. Carpooling is encouraged.

International travel: Please take a look at the Mountaineers' route description for Silver Star Provincial Park for considerations for international travel. In addition, note that to drive in British Columbia, your car must have winter or all-weather tires with the "M+S" or "mountain/snowflake symbol" and at least 3.5 mm of tread.

Meet on Thursday 1/8 at the group lodging in the town of Vernon, B.C.
