This is an exploratory overnight trip. Participants can participate on either or both dates; January 13 and/or January 14, 2024. It is best to stay overnight on January 12, 2024 if you plan to ski on January 13, 2024. Tonasket is the closest town, lodging is available in Tonasket and surrounding areas.
There are trails of all difficulty levels in Highlands, though most on this route are considered difficult. See Highlands Nordic Sno-Park map.
We will explore most of the trails in Highlands Nordic sno-park. Participants should be able to have efficient diagonal stride, herringbone, side-step, wedge turns, step in and out of tracks when moving, confidently ski up and down hills on a variety of terrain, ability to ski down steep curvy hills. If conditions do not permit we will ski at Loop Loop South Summit Sno-Park.
Metal edge X-country ski is recommended.
