We will meet on Wednesday January 20th at 9:00am at the Cabin Creek parking lot. You will need a Washington State SnoPark Pass with a Groomed Trail sticker for your vehicle.
Chris Ensor and myself will be co-leaders for this trip. We will first ski the road, a easy green to warm up. We will then ski Amabilis Mountain to the "Y" and take a short break for snacks and water. Then we will ski down and finish up with a lap around the Berg Course. The total trip will be app. 9.5 miles. This is a Nordic Advanced trip which will require that you can ascend and descend hills with herringbone and snowplow techniques. Amabilis Mountain to the "Y" is 2.5 miles up and we will return back down the same way that we went up. On a Wednesday it's likely that all of the trails will be groomed. We will all stay together and ski as a group.
SKIING DURING COVID: This ski trip will follow the Washington State Phased Approach to Reopening Business and Modifying Physical Distancing and the Mountaineer's policy guidelines for COVID-19 that apply on the date of this trip.
All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before attending an in-person Mountaineers activity during our COVID-19 response. By proceeding with any of the upcoming activities you are already registered to attend, you affirm that you have reviewed The Mountaineer's COVID-19 Code of Conduct and guidance for participants and leaders available on the COVID-19 Response page, and you agree to follow this guidance during each activity. Please remove yourself rom the upcoming activity if you are unable or unwilling to follow The Mountaineer's guidance at the time of the program.
CARPOOLING: Also, to help ensure your safety and the safety of our fellow skiers, the leader asks that you only carpool to the trailhead with other members of your household registered for the same trip.
MASKS: Bring a mask and plan on wearing it in the parking lot and when passing other skiers on the trail. We will do our best to maintain social distancing whenever possible.
Another email will be sent out after the trip closes on Tuesday January 19th.
