Trip
Basic Snowshoe - Paradise Area Trails
Blue-bird skies and mild temps. predicted--Let's snowshoe Paradise. A looping route of 5.3 miles, 1,300 gain that includes both some of the usual marked trails and several "off-trail" sections. We will visit--Paradise Valley, Paradise Picnic Area. Nisqually Vista and areas west and north of Alta Vista. Expect some well travel packed-down paths and some virgin-snow/"breaking-trail". We will snowshoe in treed areas, meadows and around several small lakes along the way.

A novel loop trip encompasses a full loop around the Paradise area--first heading east and south (and down) to Paradise Valley, then west through the Paradise Picnic area. From here we cross the road and head cross-country a bit more west and then north to connect to the Nisqually Vista Trail and do that loop. Finally we head further north (and up) on the westside of Alta Vista for hoped for killer views.
Note: Likely about a third of this route will be off the usual marked trails and will require "breaking trail". Please accurately self-assess that you are of proper conditioning for this type of trek. Everyone should expect to do some "breaking-trail"/be the front person--some for a short time and some likely doing more of this. It should be a beautifully, wonderful day.
