Basic Snowshoe - Paradise

We'll meet at the Longmire parking lot at 8:30am for introductions and a discussion of weather/snow conditions as well as the day's route.  When the Longmire gate opens (at approximately 9am), we'll drive from Longmire to the upper Paradise parking lot and get our day started.

We'll first make a quick out-and-back to Nisqually Vista, and then head north along the Dead Horse Creek and Skyline trails up to Glacier Vista.  We'll then head downhill towards Edith Creek, and we'll follow Edith Creek basin back to Paradise.

We'll trek at a moderate pace with stops for snacks/views. Participants should have a decent fitness base, as we will have a total elevation gain of 1400ft and trip length of 5 miles.

Chains must be carried in all cars (even 4WD). Those driving front or rear wheel drive vehicles may be required to install chains before proceeding up to Paradise.

Park entrance fee or America the Beautiful Pass is required.
