This "Reverse the traverse" variation is very aesthetic. BRING extra shoes or sandals to ford the North Fork multiple times. SAT- Hike out to Nooksack Cirque and camp at the Great Trog. SUN- Scramble out of cirque (Becky's route W Ridge/Nooksack Cirque” 3rd class) to Icy Peak and climb it (standard gulley, 4th class), then continue on, traversing to Ruth Mt, climb it (basic glacier), then hike out Hannegan Pass trail. 2nd day carryover is STRENUOUS with 10 miles/5000' gain. Recommend bivy gear over tents (sleeping bag, pad, storm shelter/bivy bag). Trog shelters 10 comfortably. (note- this requires a 4.4mi car shuttle from Hannegan Pass TH to Nooksack Cirque TH to complete the loop :o)
