Backpack - Spider Meadows, Spider Gap, Lyman Lakes & Buck Creek Pass
WTA states, "Buck Creek Pass Loop penetrates some of the most glorious country of the Glacier Peak Wilderness". This is planned as a photo oriented multi day backpack with time to explore, and enjoy the fall colors, larch trees, alpine lakes, and Glacier Peak.

Meeting place and time TBD.
The hike will begin at the Phelps Creek trail head, and end at the Trinity trail head. Northwest Forest Pass required to park at either trail head.
Day 1: Drive to trail head and get the shuttle setup. There are 3 miles between Phelps Creek TR and Trinity TR. Hike to north end of Spider Meadows, approx 6-7 miles with 1800'.
Day 2: We will ascend Spider Glacier, approx 1800', and descend down to Upper Lyman lakes. approx 5-6 mi.
Day 3: Day hike to Hart Lake, approx. 9 mi, and descend/ascend approx 1600'. Other optional exploration, with the potential of moving camp to Cloudy Pass (assuming a late season water source) for evening/morning photography at Cloudy Pass
Day 4: Hike to Image Lake, 7.5 mi (or 8.8 mi depending on previous camp site)
Day 5: Hike to Buck Creek Pass, approx 10.8 mi, accumulative accent approx 2500'. Optional side trips to flower Dome.
Day 6: Hike out the Buck Creek Pass trail. approx 9.6 mi.
Plenty of time for photography. Please be comfortable with multiple stops.
Plenty of time for lunch, hot if you like, at some scenic location

Required Equipment
The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:
- Tent with footprint/ground tarp
- Stove and fuel
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad

- Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
- Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
- Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
