Backpack - Ozette Triangle

Early season backpack perfect for shaking out the cobwebs from stored gear or testing new gear. We'll hike at an easy pace but will have plenty of time in camp to explore the beaches and photograph the coastal wilderness.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 9.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 400 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2 mph

The leader has already registered the group for this trip - a fee of $12.00 is to be paid to your leader at the time of the trip.

This backpack is designed to be a relaxing trip on the wilderness coast of the Olympic Peninsula. We will all meet in Port Angeles for any last-minute information and for participants to rent bear cans if needed.  Our first night will be at Cape Alava with our second night at Sand Point. The trails to and from the beach are dirt and board walks that are often uneven and slippery. Since our hiking days are low mileage, once we set up camp, you'll have plenty of time to roam and explore the beaches. Bring your camera as your leader is a photographer and will be accommodating to your photographic desires.

We'll meet at the Olympic National Park visitor center in Port Angeles at 9:30 am on Friday the 21st.
