It's very early in the season yet, but there is enough snow to make the top 2000' or so of the snowfield skiable. That means a long carry from Paradise up to above Pebble Creek over thinly snow-covered terrain before we can skin to/ski from Muir, variable snow conditions, and then a walk back down. That said, it will unquestionably be some of the finest skiing currently available in the state of Washington.
Temperatures and winds look moderate (FL at 10,000' or so by afternoon), but pack and layer for early Winter conditions. Depending on our start time (gate opening), we will pick a turn-around time that gets us back to the gate at a polite hour.
** Bring foot traction and ski traction. "Tools not jewels" will be in full effect given thin coverage. **
Longmire gate 8:30AM (expecting opening at 9AM). Possible earlier connections for carpooling.
