This is an unofficial peak just south of Chair Peak, almost exclusively a Mountaineers destination and one of my favorite scrambles in the Snoqualmie Pass area. We will hike the Snow Lake Trail past Source Lake, then scramble up into the big eastern bowl under Chair Peak where there should be plenty of snow. There will be a section of a steep snow traverse on shady, more firm snow, then a big upper snow field. We will finish on a really nice rocky ridge with a bit of exposure to get to the summit. This will be both a snow and rock scramble and is ideal for students.
Crampons are REQUIRED due to the steep traverse section.
We will go a steady moderate pace on the trail approach, but once off-trail expect the pace to be on the slower side!
