A fun and scenic scramble begins at the Mount Townsend Trailhead. We'll veer left on trail toward Silver Lake, then head off trail to scramble Welch Peak and take the ridge to Silver Lake Peak. If conditions and time permit, we may do Hawk Peak. It's about ½ trail and ½ scramble. A lot of the scrambling is T2 and T3, but there are sections of T4, but short.
