Alpine Scramble - Mount Si Haystack

Trip

Alpine Scramble - Mount Si Haystack

Hike up Old Si trail, then a classic rock scramble up the Haystack to the true summit!

  • Strenuous 3, Technical 4, Rock Scramble
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,600 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

We will start at the Little Si trailhead and hike up the old trail to the top, maybe switching over to the main trail where they intersect. We will then scramble up the Haystack, which is pretty solid but steep and airy, with the final bit having more exposure. This is a good introduction to exposure for students looking for more exposure but on a straightforward route.

Note the pace up the trail will be a slowish-moderate 2 mph

Be ready to hike at 8:30am Little Si TH - Discover Pass required
