Alpine Scramble - Humpback Mountain

2,600 feet of elevation gain and is 5.2 miles round trip. The summit block is large talus with views of the I-90 corridor to the east.

We'll have a clothing adjustment about 15 minutes from the start for those who need it, and <10 minute break every hour for water and snacks.

Standard route follows the northwest ridge, with access point determined by how far one can drive up Hansen Creek on Forest Road 5510. Highest starting point is at approximately 2,900 ft. Trail follows the ridge, eventually reaching taller trees. The final narrow summit block is through large talus, the true summit is at the south end, reached by passage on the west side of the talus.

Exit 47 off of I-90, we'll locate a spot to park vehicles and consolidate, then continue to our starting point at approximately 2900' elevation. Booted and ready to go at 8:30. Further details on available ridesharing from town, and additional info to be added as determined by leader and co-leader of this scramble.
