Paddler Development Weekend

Organized by the Seattle Kayaking Committee, "PDW" is a gem of the organization's training events. Kayakers come together at Deception Pass for two days of clinics designed for advanced paddling skills in dynamic waters and build a community of experienced paddlers. A full weekend of on-the-water paddler development workshops led by experienced instructors held in beautiful Deception Pass State Park!

 

On this annual weekend of instruction and socializing you will self assess and choose two on the water clinics designed to challenge and improve your paddling skills in and around dynamic conditions. Choices will include strokes, navigation, maneuvering in tidal currents, practicing rescue techniques. The controlled environment with American Canoe Association-certified instructors provides a safe learning environment. However, you will want to come with some paddling experience to get the most out of the weekend.

What you will receive for your $90. registration fee:

  • Two nights lodging at Cornet Bay Environmental Learning Center
  • Two hearty breakfasts, with tea, coffee and fresh fruit
  • Saturday evening dinner
  • Two full days instructional clinics of your choosing
  • Saturday evening demostrations and socializing
