Whether you’re enjoying a close-to-home hike or venturing deep in the backcountry, reflections and tips from our recent Leadership Development Series seminar will help you lessen your impact on wildlife and their habitat while recreating on public lands.
Take the 2026 Stewardship Challenge!
Giving back to our public lands through participation in on-the-ground stewardship is a great way to deepen your connection to - and care for - the natural world. This year, stewardship leaders from across our branches encourage you to take the annual Stewardship Challenge by participating in at least six hours of trailwork or another stewardship activity.
Funding Secured for Seattle Program Center Heat Pump Project
We’re excited to share an exciting development in our work to convert the Seattle Program Center to a net zero carbon emissions facility. With a recent grant award from Puget Sound Energy, we now have the necessary funding to transition from the SPC’s gas-powered furnaces to energy-efficient heat pumps, a huge step toward making the Program Center more environmentally friendly.
