This is a relatively easy hike that takes you through a forest with giant trees, mosses, ferns, lichens and slime molds! Lots of fungi too!

This was a Naturalist hike where we focused on identifying fungi, mosses and lichens. We encountered two interesting slime molds as well.
The trail is well used by day hikers as well as backpackers.
The weather was mainly cloudy with a few bouts of rain, including while eating lunch at the lake. We took shelter under the branches of Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Western Red Cedar, near the lake.
