Birds of the Northwest - Olympia - 2019

Exploring Nature Course

Birds of the Northwest

Learn local bird varieties and characteristics from noted Seattle naturalist and Mountaineer member Thomas Bancroft. Part of Olympia's "Talk and Walk" free naturalist series.

Spring and early Summer can be a busy time for the PNW birder.  Join Seattle Ornithologist and Mountaineer member Thomas Bancroft for a 2 hour workshop/lecture, then join us on a local field trip to learn more.  Thomas has been a birder all his life and has a Ph.d on Ornithology.  In the past he has served as chief scientist for the national Audobon Society, and since coming to the Pacific Northwest has just finished 6 years serving on Washington Audobon's board.  He is an active Seattle Mountaineer Naturalist Leader and teaches frequent classes for the Washington Ornithological Society.
