Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Course - Seattle - 2019

First Aid Course

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) - InPerson

Wilderness First Aid (AFA) Course - Seattle

The Wilderness First Aid course consists of two parts. To finish the course and receive credit, participants must complete both of the following:

WFA Wilderness First Aid  - 16 hour weekend course

WFA Scenarios -  a hands-on practical session

The Wilderness First Aid course now included CPR! There is some self-study homework prior to the course for the CPR certification. A reminder email with more information will be sent roughly a week prior to your session date.

Wilderness First Aid is taught by Remote Medical International (RMI) at the Mountaineers’ Program Center in Magnuson Park on various weekends throughout the year. The course includes an independent WFA certification. Your course fee covers the cost of this instruction.

WFA Scenarios is a hands-on practical session at the Mountaineers’ Program Center to test your skills after completing the Wilderness First Aid course. Register for a scenario date that occurs after your WFA course. You may not do these out of order.

Equivalency notes: Some requirements may be waived or equivalency granted to individuals who have current backcountry medical certifications or extensive experience in providing medical care in remote or austere environments. Contact the course leader if you meet these requirements. You will have to provide proof of your certification and/or experience and may still be required to complete the Scenarios portion of the class to receive credit. Urban and front-country medical training alone is not sufficient to meet this requirement, even with advanced education and experience.
