Seattle Conditioning Hiking Series Lottery

Since the Seattle CHS Course fills up quickly every year (and frequently crashes the Mountaineers website in the process), we are switching over to a lottery system.

*** PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW ***

By registering for this lottery "course", you are entering the Seattle CHS lottery.  You can only enter the lottery once and all entries (registrations) received before the close on February 3rd at 5pm will be entered into the drawing.  The date that you register  will not affect your chances.

Both members and guests are eligible to enter.  Please be aware that if you are selected you will need to be a current member of the Mountaineers in order to register for the CHS Course (after you have been notified and offered a spot).

The lottery process:

After this lottery/course closes, we will run a computerized, weighted drawing (giving preference to people who have never participated in CHS), and offer spots in the course to the first 120 "winners".  You will be sent an email with registration instructions. If you are not in that first 120, you will be notified of your position on the Lottery waitlist, and we will add people off the waitlist as spots open up (if/when people choose not to take an offered spot). 

A few important notes: 

• If you are offered a spot in the course, you are under no obligation to accept it;
• You will have up to 5 days to accept the offer, pay for, and complete your registration for the CHS Course;
• If you want to apply for a scholarship for the CHS course, please do so as soon as possible (preferably in December or January); and
• If you change your mind about being in this lottery, there is no need to cancel, you can simply choose not to accept the spot offered if you "win".  There will be no refund if you choose to cancel from this lottery.
