Trip Report

Day Hike - Poo Poo Point via Chirico Trail

Excellent condition and camaraderie, trail gets busy pass mid-morning.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail was snow-free, it was damp but traction was still good, no slippery mud after a dry Friday. There was a small creek flowing at 1000 feet where the rock was a bit wet.

No traffic driving to TH, there were plenty of parkings spots when we arrived at 8am. The parking lot was full at 11:00 am and the road was quite busy.

We maintained a comfortable pace, stayed close and let other group pass. Everybody did fantastic job hiking as a team and minimizing impact.

Headed out at 8:15 am; reached Poo Poo Point (North Launch) at 9:45 am, after a short photo break at South Launch; returned to TH at 11:00 am. We let handful people pass uphill and I loose count of people passing on the way down. The morale was high nevertheless.

Watch out for a sparkling  tree covered by Christmas lights and ornaments!
