Intermediate Backpacking Social and Trip Planning Session

  • Casual

Seattle Program Center, room Goodman A. 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

Pizza social and early season trip planning.

The primary goal for this meeting will be to identify tentative dates and destinations for trips that will require permits that open for registration in February and March.   Such destinations included but are not limited to National Parks in the US and Provincial Parks in Canada.

This is a collaborative activity.  If you want to lead or propose a trip, please come prepared with enough information so that others can decide if they are interested and able to participate.  If you want to go on trips, please come prepared with your personal schedule.   When possible, we will try to discuss specific dates for specific trips.

By the end of the evening we would like to come away with tentative destinations, dates, and rosters (partial or complete) for 2023 trips that will require permits or air travel.  Based on this information, trip leaders can start  purchasing permits and doing other detailed planning, and participants can start looking into travel logistics, vacation time, etc.

This is not the only opportunity to pitch/plan 2023 trips, just the first one.  However, it may be the only opportunity to pitch/plan trips that require permits that must be reserved in February or March.

Pizza and drinks will be provided.
