Backpackers' Pajama Party! Around the Mountain - The Loowit and Timberline trails, with Ron Jones

Put on your most comfy zoom pants and slippers, grab a favorite beverage and some popcorn, and join your fellow backpackers in this first virtual tour in our 2021 Pajama Party series, featuring Mountaineer and professional photographer on two epic loops - the Loowit Trail around Mt St Helens, and the Timberline Trail around Mt Hood! The event is free and open to the public but you must get a ticket at the link below and then we will email you the zoom link to join.

Back by popular demand:  with this amazing photo journey we're kicking off our 2021 series of virtual online pajama parties for Mountaineers backpackers and anyone else who loves to learn about or drool over pictures from the best backpacking routes in our fine state (and nearby)!   Put on your comfy jammies, grab a beverage and snack, and join us from 7 to 8:30 for slides, route info and details on how to plan your own trip!

This presentation will cover two stunning backpacking trips around two iconic Northwest volcanoes – Mt. St. Helen’s and Mt. Hood. Ron Jones from the Olympia Branch will share photographs, route details, logistics, and gear used on two trips he and his partner completed last July. Ron, a long-time sea kayaker with many multi-day remote coastal trips under his belt, is more recently spending time focusing on hiking and backpacking. Each mountain, while sharing some general features, present their own unique personality, beauty, and occasional challenges. River crossings, blast zones, boulders, rope scrambles, and a fair bit of up and down.

Beginning two days before the event we will email the instructions and link to join via zoom but you must have a ticket to receive the link.

You can get a ticket for free, but if you have appreciated all of our efforts to keep your outdoor dreams alive during the Covid-19 pandemic and on into the future, we'd love it if you'd offer even a small donation toward our hiking and backpacking programs during this time of extreme financial difficulty!    Get your ticket at the link below, and if you're willing to donate you can purchase a $10 or $20 ticket or choose the free option. We look forward to seeing you there!
